  1. Yates Sprinklers begins!

    In 1990, Chuck Yates started our business in Manotick forming Yates Irrigation, a franchisee for Student Sprinkler Services Ltd.The company operated for 3 years in the summer months installing and servicing irrigation systems while Chuck completed his studies at Carleton University during the school year.

  2. Part time business becomes Full Time

    After graduation in 1992, Chuck took the business full time and added Snow Clearing services as well as Property Maintenance.

  3. Chad Yates comes on board!

    In 1996, Chuck brought his brother Chad in as partner and incorporated Yates Exterior Services Inc. We also started Capital Pet Containment – ‘Invisible Fence’ Branch of Company.

  4. Irrigation Certificate achieved.

    Chuck Yates passed the Certified Irrigation Contractor exam in 2002 and Yates Sprinklers hired its first salesperson. We also initiated training our staff in the Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) Program, a Landscape Ontario initiative created to increase the level of competence and professionalism in the irrigation industry. As the sprinkler business grew, we felt compelled to sell the Capital Pet Containment side of the business and focus on irrigation.
