You can find the shutoff valve for your irrigation system in your basement or utility area.
For a city system (city water) the valve is usually found between the water meter
and hot water tank, on the cold water line.
On well systems, the valve is found between the incoming well line and the pressure tank.
To turn the water on: the valve handle must be in line with the pipe.
To turn the water off: the valve must be perpendicular to the pipe to shut the water off.
